Valuation of Household Goods
Pauline Uhing opened the Posh Peacock Furniture Consignment Gallery in 2011. The store was originally 4,000 sq ft and eventually expanded to 10,000 sq ft. Over the years, she helped thousands of families sell quality items that were no longer needed by them, but would be coveted by others. She did this successfully for 13 years but decided she was ready for a change, so she closed the store in January of 2025.
Pauline used the knowledge she gained from her years of doing thousands of valuations to help people assign values and sell their personal property. She also worked with local attorneys, banks, estate sale companies and private dispersal agents.
She uses a fair market approach which is what a willing buyer would pay a willing seller on the secondary market. This is based on comparable sales of similar items in similar condition in the local/regional area. Sold prices are used, not asking prices, and are found through online marketplaces and auction houses.
