Senior
Relocation

Moving to a new home, apartment, or a senior living community can seem overwhelming and stressful.  This is where a Move Manager can make a huge difference by providing expert guidance and the services needed to make the move as smooth as possible.

Pauline Uhing is available to help you as little or as much as you deem necessary.  She is well known in the community from her 13 years as the owner of the Posh Peacock Furniture Consignment Gallery.  During that time, she worked with hundreds of seniors and their families as they sorted through what to keep, sell or dispose of.  Pauline also provided them with advice for resources such as movers, contractors, realtors, and service people.

She will take the time to get to know you and your situation to assess your needs.  Pauline will provide practical assistance as you decide which things to take and what to part with.  Her approach offers a combination of empathy, kindness, and a sense of humor to help you see the benefits of letting go.  The end goal is a lovely new space with many of your cherished pieces that make you feel at home.

As an interior designer, she can help you assess which furniture, artwork and accessories will work well in your new space.  She does this by drawing up a furniture layout for the new home.  She will be there to tell the movers where everything goes and unpack it for you.  Once everything is where it should be, she can stage your space with your wall art and décor pieces to look warm and welcoming.

If needed, Pauline can help you get a home ready to sell as well.  Her experience as a construction project manager, designer and realtor means that she knows what it takes to get a home ready to sell.  Most importantly she knows what to leave as is if costs are prohibitive. If you need help finding a realtor, Pauline can refer you to several seasoned professionals that do an excellent job.

If you’re moving out of state to be close to family, you may need just a few select services to get the job done.  Pauline can work as a consultant to get you started with the process and fill in any gaps where you need help.  She may also be available to unpack it and set it up in your new location.

During a free one hour consultation with Pauline, she will have a list of questions to help assess your situation. She understands the process is emotional and will listen to your concerns, preferences and offer a compassionate approach to your unique situation. She will then provide several options for you to consider based on your needs to make the moving process smooth and the transition less stressful.
